Morning All,
I have a copy of a baptism record in 1838 in Gibraltar. It states the father Francisco Perez was born in Tavira and the mother Ignacia De La Rosa what looks like Ulloa ? I am assuming (but could be completely wrong) that they mean Tavira in Portugal. What I am struggling with is where the mother was from. Am is reading the spelling wrong, is there any similar places?
I suppose a secondary question is if Francisco Perez was born in Tavira C1816 how do I trace his birth to find his parents?
Many Thanks,
S :)

Did you say that you have Ignacia on a census?
Does that not give a country (and town) of birth?

Possibly a very oddly spelled Olhao? (town on the Algarve). It's less than 20 miles (30km) from Tavira.
