I believe that Jennie Cohen (Married name) is maiden name Morris / Jane Morris = I have 1891 census, 1901 census and the below details from the 1911 census where she is now married
I am looking for any marriage index and or a birth index info to follow up on.. I am struggling to find.. Any help will be grateful..
Note I have a mixture of birth cert info and marriage certs
I am also greatly interested in the gentlemen Harry & Charles noted in the census details (on the Morris family census info that I have)

Note the other census reports following all in comparisons to me I feel are linked but raise some questions on gaps - The name Caddish shows up later for the family members who follow in the other census 1901 & 1911 info.. Minnie, Lazarus, Fanny with mother noted as Cardish / Caddish

Note - No Leah but also noted in Leahs brth cert that the father Benjamin signed with his X mark under witness suggesting could not write (Obviously an immigrant and English not his language - I wonder if this contributed to inconsistencies in the Census info shared over the years - I noted also that in the 1911 census that daughter Minnie aged 18 at that stage completed the census info)
I am very interested in the Charlie and Harry Morris siblings and struggle to find these boys
I wondered if the Harry who was in Wakefield Prison listed as Tailor was the Harry I am looking for ?? although he was noted as birth in Sheffield but inconsistent with noted as Manchester in a census report???

Take a look on freebmd at the Sept 1910 marriage of Isadore Cohen & Jinnie Morris in Ecclesall Bierlow. Son Meyer Louis was born March qtr 1910 in same RD so born before marriage
Btw - copy and pasting census entries from subscription sites is not allowed. If you take a look at your posts everything is jumbled together and there are no birthplaces shown so they don’t make for easy reading ???

August 1908 - He was 22yrs and 5 mths old and was jailed for Bastardy arrears. His religion is shown as "Jew" & he was sentenced to 35days in prison or £9

how can you get access to these records ? is that possible ?
I would be interested in understanding this bastardy Law ? and the circumstances that Harry found himself in at that time?

Not a great deal different to today. He was the father of an illegitimate child and liable to support the child. He failed to do so and was in arrears with his payments (presumably the £9)
The only difference is the imprisonment which would be rare today

It was another example of the shift away from Biblical forms of common Hebrew names. Other examples are Moses to Morris/Maurice and Levi to Louis/Lewis.

Whilst Isadore is a masculine name, there is also a femine version of it, Isadora, viz the American dancer Isadora Duncan.
