There are several records for Hilda M Cowell US Border Crossings from Canada to USA
The last record I can see is arrival date 1/9/1941 Buffalo New York gives a birth date of 11 October 1902 Seaforth England occupation nurse returning resident
Contact details Father Richard Cowell in Canada also on other records her mother Francis

1931 Census Hilda Cowell age 27 single born England  registered nurse address Nurses home Brooklyn Kings New York

Can't find anything so far after this so she might have returned to Canada

Thanks for your search Rosie, I wonder if she may of stayed in US , it's strange as I can find the info on the mum, and 2 sisters, I've even got a photo of their headstone, but nothing for the three remaining, thank you for looking into it for me, I've just hit a brick wall x

Wingham cemetery would be right as that's where her parents and sisters were buried, would you have any idea how I could find the years of death for them both. Thanks Karen x

Hi,

There are some early Wingham newspapers online, pre 1935 that mention your Cowell family,

Death of RT Cowell, 4th column over, 2nd article down
https://pubdocs.huroncounty.ca/weblink/DocView.aspx?id=551161&searchid=4ee732a8-11a4-455c-97f9-8428268e3a72&dbid=3

Death of Vera, 5th column over, 2nd article down

There are other bits and pieces, this is the main search page, ignore browse by, and add Cowell
in the top search bar.

Thanks Rosie  :)

Just in case you don't have this, Richard served in WW1 and his service file is available,
click on digitized service file to see his complete record. It is very slow to load.
