Post by: cupcake on Friday 19 October 18 07:25 BST (UK)
Have been trying to find the burial places for:

Joseph Kidman  who died  Q3  1970 at Maldon  his wife  Elsie Mary Kidman Harding)  who died  Q1 1981 - Chelmsford.

Have tried Maldon Council - Chelmsford Council and Essex with no success.

Any information will be very much appreciated.

Just to add to my previous message.

Maldon have no records of anyone by those names in any of their cemeteries – this is Maldon, Heybridge or Burnham on Crouch.

Have you thought she might have been buried in a churchyard attached to a church

Have you her address in Chelmsford or where she died

Hadn't thought she may have been buried in a churchyard attached to a church. Would imagine she will be with her husband Joseph ho died in 1970 at Maldon. Other than that I have no idea.

Don't have an address for them.

Have you thought they might be cremated, if so possibility it would be either Chelmsford or Colchester

The only addresses I can find within the Maldon area is as follows

1930 Basin Road, which I think is in Heybridge area, his occupation being a coal merchant  that could be the right area

1939 King Street which is in the town of Maldon, look a bit like 2 up 2 down houses

They had a son Derek Alan J Kidman born 09/10/1928 MMN Harding, his death is shown as 2004 Chelmsford, his address circa 2004 is  in Fambridge Road which is a bit outside  Maldon town, even so Maldon might have been a burial place, but if cremated lists as in previous message

Thank you for all the information- most interesting  :)

I went to my library on the off chance I could get some information and found a probate for Mary Kidman 30 March 1981- she died 17 February 1981 and the address was - Longfield, Fambridge Clo, Maldon, Essex (Longfield appears to be a Care Home)

Think they only had the one son Derek Alan J Kidman b. 1928 died 2004. address was at 106a Fambridge Road, Maldon. He doesn't appear to have married.

Louisa Maud,

Have contacted the  Chelmsford Cemetery & Crematorium regarding  burials (then realised I had already contacted them the other day). Also emailed the  Colchester Crematorium Office. Fingers crossed.

Not too sure about that.

The lady from the  Colchester Cremation Office has  got back to me and said she has  had a quick look and of course, will have a further look later but, have you tried Chelmsford Crematorium?

I told her I have contacted the Chelmsford Crematorium and they are going to look into my enquiry.

If they aren't at either  Colchester or Chelmsford, then I have no idea where they might me   :-\.

Thank you

Is there a family grave elsewhere, the only other large cemetery and crematorium is Southend, did you not have a member of your family die within the Southend area, or perhaps I am mistaken

Is it both of them you can't find?

Hopefully they will come back to you

I am not aware of anyone being buried or cremated in the Southend cemetery.I'll need to look up where Southend is.

Have just been in contact with Chelmsford Crematorium and they have found Elsie Mary Kiidman- she was cremated on the 25 February 1981 and her ashes in the Lawn of Remembrance.

Still to find Joseph Kidman died 1970 who may have been buried in a Churchyard, somewhere, as they did  more burials around that time. She is going to search the 1970 records but, as there are only 2 members of staff and are very busy, it could be a while before she gets back to me.

Had a look on Google and there are so many Churches in  Southend.

It is just a thought  - perhaps Joseph is buried where, I do not know. His wife Mary died  1981 and her address may have been a Nursing Home and, perhaps her son decided to have her Cremated   :-\.

Will see if the lady from the Chelmsford Crematorium finds anything.

The lady from Chelmsford Crematorium has been in touch to say she has found Joseph Kidman.

The late Mr Joseph Kidman, passed away 13/JUNE/1970, his cremation took place on 15/JULY/1970 and his cremated remains interred on our Lawn 1 .

So pleased to know  they are together  :).

Thank you for your help Louisa.
