Title: Cemetery Road , Great Yarmouth
Post by: Andy May on Sunday 21 October 18 17:26 BST (UK)
I wonder if anyone can help me here, please ?
I've been tracing my family tree for over 20-years and am currently fixated with my 2x Great-grand-dad who sadly committed suicide in 1881 in Norwich. He's easy to find and well documented in all census (1851-61-71-81) in Norwich BUT sometime after 1875 he up-sticks and lived in Great Yarmouth for 4-5 years. I've found 2 children born on Cemetery Rd and baptism records for them both (Bishops transcripts so no idea which church ?). One child sadly died aged just 10-wks old and also found a burial record for him - but again no church mentioned.  Cemetery Road ran west to east between the Old & New cemeteries and appears to now be called Kitchener Road ( name change post-Boer War perhaps , circa 1902 ? (It had changed by 1906 according to old OS Maps) I'm wondering if anyone has photos of Cemetery Road from the late 1800s - early 1900s , please ?
(See 1896 OS & current Google Maps below for reference) . Thanks in antic'
