There is a good deal of confusion over Denis/George W's first name. When I tried to discover something about his RAF career and contacted the RAF Records- they had no record of a George W Beaman but had a record of a Denis Beaman which fitted. Unfortuately, my father died many years ago, so I will never know the answer. My mother was his second wife. AJB

The marriage between Leonard Beaman and Miriam Blanshard was that of my parents. His first wife was also a MIriam - how is that for weird?

Have you considered sending for the birth cert of George W Beaman? It costs less than £10 pounds from GRO and would be interesting to see who his parents are??

Did you find Denis or George in 1939?
