i am looking to find out information on two finan brothers Thomas and john. Thomas was born in 1883 and died on the 27/8/1914 age 31in france and john was born in 1890 and died on the 29/11/1916 age 26. there mother was mary finan of 16 king street Keighley. Thomas was in the 2 battalion of the royal munster fusiliers and john was in the 8th battalion of duke of wellington regiment.thomas service number 7896 and john service number is 11121. i am wondering is there any member done research on these two men and where there parents and grandparents from . where they born in ireland

You will have noticed that May should be Mary on the 1911 & place of birth was written as Kilmaty. Ireland - someone has over written in pen Sligo. (not heard of Kilmaty myself ??? )

Can find no details of a son Thomas, nor can I find WW1 death details for him matching what has been posted.

For other helping, the elder brother was named Michael, not Thomas!

A Michael Finnan married 1867 Tobercurry (Sligo) and one of possible brides who married at the same time was a Mary O'Hara.

Margaret was born on the 11th May 1868 at the time they were living in Cloonbarry,in the district of Aclaire in Sligo her fathers occupation is farmer and yes her mother was O'hara
