It's going to be a BAPTISM register, not a birth.

On 1851 census

Samuel Perkins    Head    M    44    Sheerness, Kent
Thomas Perkins    Wife    F    40    St Giles, Middlesex

Some thing wrong there.

I've suggested only online resources.

Hi Pauline

I downloaded the leaflet you sent they say the registers are held at the Kent local archives  I presume it's the maidstone archive you mentioned the family search in Kent, can I find a local one to me I live south  london

Thanks

Familysearch is an online resource. you can search it from home.

ask at your local public library what else they might offer.

There are no parish registers for Sheerness circa 1807.
https://www.kent-opc.org/Parishes/Sheppey%20Sheerness.html

Minster in Sheppey would probably be the first place to look.

There is a lot of information about this family here:-

https://www.GenesReunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1374071?page=0

I am not sure if you need to register to read it.

It has the marriage of Samuel to Frances Martin on 16 May 1840 in St Giles. She is the mother of Julia, Alfred and some others.

Samuel had been married before, possibly to a Sarah, but I can't find the record.
