Hi,
I am researching a chap who, although from Surrey, was attending school in High Wycombe (perhaps Great Hampden or Great Missenden) in 1940. He shows up as living at Park Farm Cottages which doesn't appear to be a valid address any longer.
Could someone let me know what schools were in this area in this timeframe? The only other hint I have is that he had an interest in all things technical.
Grateful for any pointers.

Is the address you give from the 1939 register?

There is a Park Farm and Park Farm Road in West Wycombe on the Dashwood Estate in West Wycombe Park:

As you say he was interested in anything technical, there was a High Wycombe Junior Day Technical Institute, probably a senior one too. My father was at the former in 1926, probably both. He was a boffin in WWII and had two patents to his name.

Hi Carole,
No. His niece found a letter with the address on which had been sent her dad. I just learned about the Register last week and someone was kind enough to send me the pages covering this street.
Tony,
Thanks for this. I am, of course, assuming his school was nearby where he lived but I have to start somewhere.
Ray,
Many thanks for the Chapel Lane clue.
Regorian,
Congrats to your dad on the patents and my thanks to you for the Techy lead. If I'm looking correctly then its now known as the John Hampden Grammar School. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Had to look it up, but yes. Technical school until 1970, then Grammar school. My father could make Queen Anne furniture, still got two tables, and musical instruments. They taught technical drawing, perspective, architecture etc.
