How sad...
I cannot count / comprehend - unravel the amount of babies born and died to
William and Mary (Cave) from SYSTON
they attempted to have a son and call him
Henry Berridge
how many were born and how many died...
so confused I have 1732/ 1734/ 1736/ 1738 -- as well as all the other children they had.
have to go through them slowly - yet again..

I'm only seeing 2 baptisms for a Henry - one in 1732 and one in 1736.
There was a burial in 1734, presumably of the 1732 Henry. Another burial took place in 1738, but although FindMyPast says that this Henry was also born in 1738, in fact the register just refers to him as an "infant" so he could have been the 1736 Henry.

I can see the following baptisms for William's and Mary's children:
Dec 1729 Mary (buried July 1734)
Dec 1730 Elizabeth
April 1732 Henery (buried Sept 1734)
Marchh 1732/3 William
Sept 1734 Robert (buried 1743)
Feb 1736/7 Henery (buried July 1738)
Feb 1739/40 Thomas (buried Nov 1745)
April 1742 Ann
July 1743 Robert (buried April 1756)
May 1744 Alice and Catherine, twins
August 1745 John (buried Aug 1745)
April 1747 Harry
So. 13 children of which at least 6 died in childhood, 7 if you count Robert who was just into his teens. 50% mortality sadly seems to have been about par for the course in the "good old days" :-\

Thanks Annie,
I think I was getting mixed up with my Henrys
Brilliant work.
And yes sad for that poor lady to be permanently pregnant with so little reward. :(
