I have the medical records of my husband's grandfather, he was in the Royal Horse Artillery in India. Can any one translate this snippet on the attachment for me please, seems to be what was wrong with him but not sure. He was invalided out.

Could it mean a perforated eardrum /tympanic membrane perforation :-\

Can you get that into better focus please?
I would say the first word is an abbreviation of perforation. And the last may be something like Tympani. But I really cannot say, it is not in focus.

What Wiggy and Kay said - it means a perforated eardrum. I had one once. It's really nasty and takes ages to get your hearing back.

Thank you everyone, you are probably right, new information, I never knew he was deaf. He is my husband’s grandfather.
Two apologiess.
I am sorry I am so far behind replying. Sadly my sister in law has been taken ill and not expected to recover. So genealogy went out the window.

Second apology. I am trying to do this via my smartphone for the first time and had a lot of trouble trying to get to the post and was pressing everything in sight to get in.
