Title: UK Incoming Passenger, Patrick Rodgers, 1910 to 1930
Post by: oldohiohome on Thursday 15 November 18 16:17 GMT (UK)
Could someone please look for a record of Patrick Rodgers arriving, most likely in Liverpool, between 1910 and 1930? His ultimate destination could be listed as Ballymadeerfy Townland, Kilkeel, or possibly Lisnacree.

My search brought me to this page at ancestry.com, but I don't have a subscription:

https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/bt26/?name=patrick_rodgers&birth=1881&arrival=1920_liverpool-lancashire-england-united+kingdom_92187&arrival_x=10-0-0

Patrick was born May 1881, in Ballymadeerfy Townland, Kilkeel, Ireland, arrived in the United Sates on May 19, 1905, and was in Butte, Montana, in April 1909 when his brother William emigrated. Patrick is on the 1901 Census in his parents' household in Ballymadeerfy, but is not there in 1911. The farm passes from his father John to a Patrick Rodgers in 1928, according to the Valuation Revision Books, and I suspect Patrick returned to take it over, rather than stay in the US.

Thank you,
Ed H

Very likely. Is that from the Will Books?

Thanks, I found the abstract in the will books.

Thank you both very much.

@rubymelia for finding the thread. After 5 days I had given up on getting a reply.

@aghadowey for reminding me that the later BMD records indexes are at GRONI.

I found his marriage (I knew his wife's given name) and then found her death as well, so the "book is closed" on Patrick.

Edited to add: I looked at his emigration and he was travelling with a Patrick McAleenan from Lisnacree, which matches a bit with the Brian McAleenan, executor.
