Myself and a fellow researcher have been trying to prove/disprove the following but as we both live in England, require help from Canada!
Charles William Hill born 18th Nov 1883 Birmingham married Hannah Owen born 1890 Haslingden Lancashire on 25th Dec 1908 in York Ontario. Two years later they were witnesses at the marriage of one of Hannah's sisters. No record has been found of them on the 1911 or 1921 census.
We are certain Charles William served in the 122nd Oversea Batallion as the father, birth place (although the year is incorrect) and addresses of his father are correct (checked with the electoral register), however the demob papers state he is single (not widowed) and give his death as 28th Feb 1966 at Westminster Hospital, London Ontario. I found a burial at Woodland cemetery
HILL, Charles William Woodland, London (Section A,AEN,AES,L,VA,VAA,VB,Y) Middlesex London MX-LC-152-1
which maybe be the same Charles William
So we need the age at death/obitory of the 1966 Charles William and to discover if the Woodland burial is the same Charles William. If it is 'our' Charles William then what became of Hannah 1910-1916? I can find no death on Ancestry
Any help appreciated!

There is a death of a Charles William Hill in Carman Manitoba. Charles born 1914 passed away 2008
which might be a possible for the son.

Thanks for the above, we did think this was the family but my fellow researcher proved it was the wrong family, marriage year shows 1910 - our Charles was born 18th Nov 1883 and Hannah in 1890. Also this doesn't match with the Charles William Hill WW1 papers which we are 90% certain is our Charles due to the DOB, place of birth, father and the address of his father Charles Edward

Dates are not always accurate on census, some we have to take with a pinch of salt.

The public library London Ontario are usually very helpful, they may be able to find an obituary for you, although you haven't got a specific date which would help. Unless our obituary expert Run Kitty could find something for you.

Thank you for all the info, I will pass it onto my fellow researcher. The burial at Woodland cemetery is the entry I found. It may not relate to Charles the solider but he did die in London Ontario on 28th Feb 1966

That was the regiment number. ???
The date of passing is very useful if you contact the library.

Regiment Number? Sorry being from the UK I don't understand. Is this burial in a veteran section?
The blue form in his WW1 records state he died on 28th Feb 1966 and his service number was 763259

I've just found the following on Find a grave which may be him although I gather the cemetery is some 2 1/2 hours drive from Westminster hospital?

I found the obit for the Charles William Hill buried in Pine Hills Cemetery - wife Alice.
He died in Toronto on April 3 1966. Husband of Alice Parkin. Father of Alice (Mrs A Windle), Marjorie (Mrs R Goate), Leslie of Winnipeg, Audrey (Mrs K Benson), Enid (Mrs M Stimers) and Sheila. Burial Pine Hills.

Using just Nella Augustus * b. 1883 there is a possible.

Wow thank you so much, so it looks like he remarried 1925-1953 and moved from Toronto to London. I have just contacted London library for a possibly obituary but his marriage to Nella would prove it was him Also what happened to Hannah his first wife? 1910 until he joined up in 1916 when he states he was single (not widowed?)

I have just found the marriage to Nella and yes it is the correct Charles - 1929 in Toronto and he states he was a widower. So Hannah Hill nee Owen born 1890 died 1910-1916 in Ontario. The hunt goes on
