Title: Lincs to the Past website query
Post by: Davedrave on Monday 19 November 18 20:59 GMT (UK)
I have come across this website which looked promising but all I can see is thumbnail size images. I am using an iPad and tapping on the image doesn’t magnify it, just bringing up a blank. Does anyone who uses the website know whether it is malfunctioning, or is it just that I need a “proper” computer to use it?

Dave

I have never had any success viewing on an ipad. Best to use a computer.

Thanks. iPads definitely have limitations.

May I suggest Ipad users contact the site owner. She might then be able to help in some way.

It works fine for me on my iPad.
I have a 5th generation (2017) iPad with the latest ios but I’m getting nothing. Searching for Gosberton baptisms which include 1821 I can see the page numbers and navigation buttons but no actual images are displaying. How odd ???

I have tried repeatedly to view images on this website and blue smoke is now visible coming from the top of my head when I even think about it now, ;D
You have my sympathy !

I know how you feel ! I used to have a lot of trouble with it until I realised I was doing it wrong.
This is my method: I get the image up I want to view, then I click twice on the + sign under the toolbar. A rectangle then appears and I move it to the top left hand corner, then I use the directional icons to move about the image. It can always be resized to suit !

However, if you email them with a problem, they are very good at replying.
