Title: EYLES from Atworth/Atford - A very big ask - BMD from the 1700s
Post by: enzfan on Tuesday 20 November 18 07:10 GMT (UK)
Hi

I am trying to untangle my EYLES ancestors.

I have an ancestor Thomas EYLES and his brother William. I know that William was born about 1739 and that their father was also named William.

Familysearch has some baptisms for EYLES children - Mary (1729), Martha (1732), mother Elisabeth. Then Betty (1743), John (1745) and Charles (1746), mother Anne. All born/baptised Atworth. I don't know if this is my family as neither William or Thomas' records are there. Did William snr marry twice? With the exception of Charles, these christian names are all names associated with my ancestors down the line

Thomas may have died about 1791 and I know that William died in 1818, probably in Melksham.

What I need is any BMD information that there is for the EYLES family in Atworth during the 1700s and into the 1800s.

Thomas' wife was Esther HUNT and a tree that I have been looking at has her burial in Atworth, 26 June 1804.

Your help will be much appreciated

Robyn from NZ  :)
