I am trying to find the origin of my 3xgreat granmother Margaret Hornby who married Randle Judson in Nantwich, Cheshire in 1776. According to the marriage record she was of the parish of Bunbury, and from her burial record she was born about 1756. I can't find any record of her baptism but there was a Nancy Hornby baptised in Weaverham in 1758. Has anybody come across Nancy being used as an alternative for Margaret? I know it's usually used for Anne.
I'd appreciate opinions.
