Can anyone please help with a baptism look up in Headington around 1811 for a Mary Harris.
On the 1851 census she has her birthplace as Hoddington, Oxfordshire. I think its a bad transcription or perhaps the enumerator didn't now the place so guessed the spelling. Unfortunately, she died in 1850. Sorry, tht should be she died in 1860

Mary Anne Harris daughter of Thomas and Jane baptised 14 February 1813 in Headington

The original of the 1851 census looks like Hoddington, I think the Headington baptism looks favourite Deddington is a lot further out from Hurley, Berks which is where Mary was living in 1851 (then Mary Horwood). Plus, she named her first child Jane.
If it isn't too cheeky, can I ask if Thomas & jane had any more children in Headington, and if there is a marriage there for them?

There is another Thomas Harris, to a Jane Viner(of Hailey), @ Witney. 2 Oct 1820. (From the Marriage Index).
These are the only 2 Thomas Harris marriages to a Jane, in the time frame.

That will give me something to get my teeth into. She was the wife of one of my Brickwall-Horwoods (its such a longstanding brickwall that I've decided to give them a doube barrelled name!!).

Thomas the shoemaker has wife Esther in 1841, relationship confirmed in 1851. This Thomas b about 1806. Esther might be 2nd wife and the other Jane his first.

Looks like Esther's maiden name is Grantham. If she is Thomas (shoemaker) second wife I think they may have married before civil registration.

found marriage Headington 5 April 1828, doesn't give condition of either so don't know if he was a widower.
But Robert Harris bapt 1832 with Jane as mother doesn't fit, unless very late baptism

We have three Thomases.
1 Thomas + Jane Polley m Headington baptised several children in Headington, occ labourer / mason
2 Thomas + Jane Viner m Witney 1820 - three children bapt in Northleigh starting in 1821 likely to be theirs. occ Ag lab
3 Thomas + Esther / Hester Grantham m Headington , several children b Headington. Possibly vicar made mistake with Esther's name. Registers often filled in after the event, lost the Post-it and knew there was a Thomas / Jane couple in the neighbourhood. Occ shoemaker.

There is a marriage in Headington of a Mary Ann Harris(s) of full age spinster daughter of Thomas Harris occ Mason to George Phillips full age of Headington widower occ labourer on 24 Feb 1845.
Witnesses Thomas Harris (X) and W...(?) Harris.
In 1851 Mary Ann and George are in Headington, George is a stone digger.

Age at death of your Jane is 54, so birth about 1806.
could be the Mary Harris bapt Headington 26 Feb 1804 d/o John and Jane
