I can't work out what this writing is...
It is in the column on 1881 Census in Bootle, Liverpool
The column is as follows:
(1)Deaf and dumb
(2) Blind
(3)Imbecile/Idiot
(4)Lunatico
The first word refers to the head of the house, the father. He was working as a storekeeper.
It seems to be the same for the eldest 2 children, a daughter and son.
Thanks for any help

What is the name of the person or reference number of census, it sometimes helps us to look at the full entry
-
Please can you give the reference, so we can see the whole page?
Red notice :D I'll post it anyway.

Hi all,
The piece is 3689, Folio 57 and page number 40
Thanks

It says Hants for Hampshire , written in the wrong column.

Yes! This is why we needed to see the whole page, and why the reference is always useful :)
If there's a word in this column that you can't make out it's always worth considering that its some sort of 'overflow' from the previous column. In this case you can see it's in a different hand from the rest of the page, so it's been added later on, by someone collecting data from the census returns.
