Do you a know that he was in the Army?   What time period are we looking at - and did you ever find him in 1901 or later?

There are brief records on Findmypast for John Henry WILSON born 1877 Bexley Kent, not too far from Shorne, he served in 3rd. Bn. East Surrey Regt
He was in South Africa from June 1901 until July 1902.
