Title: Date for CdV of Mr & Mrs Lumley please
Post by: JenB on Monday 10 December 18 18:18 GMT (UK)
I'd love to have a date for this one please.

It's by Allan Ramsden, an itinerant photographer in the north of England see https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=772732.msg6333268#msg6333268

Written in biro  >:( on the back it says 'Mr & Mrs Lumley. Butcher.' In pencil along the top it says 'Mrs Reed' I can see various Lumleys who were butchers, so a date might help me pin it down a bit more. Although it says Tow Law, it doesn't follow that they were resident there, since Ramsden plied his trade hither and yon in his caravan.

Any help in dating much appreciated  :D

I would agree with 1970s.
If Carol wants to knock a 100 years off I would agree too.
Looks like a photo of the Lumleys sent to Mrs. Reed so maybe a Lumley/Reed connection somewhere.

What sort of age do you think they are? I'm not at all good at estimating age from photos, but I do wonder if the beard makes him look older than he really is :-\
