Could this have been  taken before 1861, the person I am hoping it is died in 1861

May I ask what age do you consider her to be, and could it be late 70's, or later.

I would say she's 45-55 & mid-late 1870's.

Someone born 1833 might fit the bill then. now to find proof  ::)

Just an observation.  The lady in the photo looks as though she might need the support of the chair and the umbrella (acting as a stick), rather than it being for the purpose of posing her.  Of course, that doesn't mean she was elderly.
