Patrick and Maria/Mary Brien were married in 1859 in Tunstall.
They had a son named Lawrence in 1860 as well as a daughter Ann in 1863, both born in Tunstall. I haven’t managed to find them together in any censuses and I was wondering if they had any more children after Ann’s birth.

This looks as if it might be them on 1871 census
Class: RG10; Piece: 5044; Folio: 14; Page: 21;
Living in County Durham, although Ann isn't with them
GRO gives mmn as VASS for both Lawrence and Ann
You could check if there were any other children with VASS as the mother's maiden name
