Title: CEF Discharge 1917
Post by: Steve C on Monday 24 December 18 20:34 GMT (UK)
Been a while since I last posted but have just found discharge paperwork for an ancestor who passed away in 1938.

He was discharged from the CEF in consequence of RO 1420 Para (A) Cat.C2 Med Unfit

Could anyone help decipher what the above means please.

Many thanks in advance Steve

Hi there  :)

Can't help with your request but......

Assuming we are on the same page with CEF (Canadian Expediciary Force), do you have his complete military record? It should contain his medical record and hopefully give you some idea what the problem was. The complete record can be downloaded for free from Library and Archives Canada. It will be very very slow to download.

Hi PB,

Many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post and the link to Library and Archives Canada ;)

Found my relation listed and clicked on the digitized pdf format link. You were spot on about the very very slow download, I don`t possess fibre broadband at present due to no space in the cabinet according to BT, so I had time to make myself a cup of tea whilst waiting for the download to finish  ;D

Anyway it was worth it..............60 pages of information and detail...............brilliant.

Many thanks Steve
