Michael Curneen's children spanned the years 1841-1857 - Peter/Bridget/Mary/Sarah/John/Bryan - l have just found mention of a son, also called Michael in his will, but l can't find any birth/marriage or death records for him at all. Tgere is a possibility that he may have moved from Keelogues to possibly Aughamore as he doesn't show in census records like his siblings.
I've checked marriage and death records with no sightings....... puzzled.

I don’t understand what you mean.
Are you saying that there is a younger Michael after the children you mention? When was he born?
You say you have census records for the others.
I can see a marriage for a Mary Curneen in 1875. She is of Keelogues and has a father, Michael. Is she your family?
Are you trying to prove that the younger Michael moved?
-
Sorry, I have edited my original post. Hope it makes more sense now.
-
Thanks a bit better.
Is this correct? Michael snr died 1890.
Does he mention all the children in his will? Are they mentioned in order of birth?
Why do you think Michael, the son, moved to Aughamore?
-
Yes, his father died 1890. Yes, all his children were mentioned.
He may not have moved, I'm clutching at straws. There are four Curneen graves in Conwal cemetery, Glenade. Three are Aughamore families, but i cannot see how they are related??
-
Do you have baptisms and marriages for all the other children?

No baptisms as they were pre-1864 but I have marriages and deaths.
-
I have seen some marriages but thought you might have parish records. I can’t see any though and Glenade Parish records do not begin until 1867.
-
Also, strange that he doesn't feature in the Keelogues or Drummans area of Glenade for either 1901/1911.

Presuming he was still alive, he could have emigrated or joined the army or ... :-\

When was the Will written?
In what order are the children named......might suggest birth order?
What did they inherit?.......property?....personal items?....
Did they inherit (real or in kind) equally.?
When did father Michael marry, and when were the children born?.

Michael Curneen
Aghamore
Carrownoona
Keeloges
There may be two or more families.
I have seen your threads re the graves. Is your family part of that group?
-
Heywood, yes Michaels was Keeloges

Heywood, yes Michaels was Keeloges
Why do you think there is also the Aghamore connection? Could that be a different Michael?

Is she connected to your lot??

This is crucial. The Curneens of Aghamore and Keeloges are all buried within the same grave surround - there must be a connection.
-
They probably are...with them still well tended there are probably descendants around keeping the graves etc.

Yes, there are and I have spoken to them but none of them know the connection

Have you checked to see who owned the townlands in 1700's to see if any leases were registered to them?

Yes, I have just checked.
There is a Michael Curneen in each of the town lands that I am aware of Keeloges, Carrownoona and Aughamore. I presume this means three different Michael Curneens?
-
They are all on Familysearch.. there is a link to them in Ireland Resources.
Wills, Deeds. Land Owners by County, Townland Index..etc There should be one. Land Owners Leitrim. Maybe 1740 to 1799 etc etc Also Townlands Leitrim or Leitrim/Sligo

Did Michael move from Keelogues to Aughamore, Glenade?
The answer is no, Michael emigrated to California where he lived, married and had five children. I found him. I also have contacted several people who have family trees on Ancestry!
Thanks to all who helped in my search. I found the answer in an Irish Newspaper Archive from 1956. His daughter visited Ireland and this was reported in the local press.
Since I started searching I have felt that I have always been guided by 'someone', this is another example.
Thanks all.
