Title: Dover area WW2
Post by: Top-of-the-hill on Sunday 30 December 18 16:37 GMT (UK)
I am sure someone here will know the answer to this - my searches on-line have been fruitless!
I am trying to find out about the restricted area round Dover and probably much of East Kent in WW2. I have a reference in a local document that there was a checkpoint near the village of Bridge, and my mother told a tale about being stopped by a soldier at Snowdown station, because she was entering a restricted area. (She was a WAAF coming home, and I think she told him where to go!). I would like to know what area was covered by this and what it meant for the locals.
