In the 1940 census, Robert W. Logan was living in Queens, NY with his wife Eugenia. [Robert Logan was born 13 Dec 1906 in Iowa].

From that census we know that Eugenia was born in New York in about 1905; her father was born in Sweden, her mother in NY; she had been previously married at the age of 21; as of 1940, she had no children; she had 4 years of college; she was not employed; she did not have a social security number. She probably married Robert Logan before 1935, since they both reported the same residence location for 1935.
I looked for someone named Eugenia born in NY in about 1905 with a father from Sweden and a mother from NY. I only located one who fit the bill: Anna Mabel Eugenia Johnson, born 24 September 1904 in Brooklyn.

Anna Mabel Eugenia Johnson did, in fact, get married in 1926 at the age of 21. She married Andrew Burnet Stoney in Manhattan.

In 1930, Andrew Stoney and his wife were living in South Carolina. She was using the name Eugenia and she had no children.

By 1940, Andrew Stoney had a new wife so either Eugenia had died or they had gotten divorced.

I haven't found any death or divorce record. I suspect this Eugenia might be Robert Logan's wife but I can't find any marriage record for them, either. Nor have I found a death record for Eugenia Logan. [Robert Logan died in 1978 per the SSDI; last residence New York, NY].

Can anyone find a marriage record for Robert W. Logan and Eugenia Johnson/Stoney or any other plausible Eugenia?

I don't know if Robert was married more than once. He did have children but I don't know who their mother was. I haven't found birth records for them and I just blithely assumed that their mother was Eugenia. I can't mention their names because they might well be alive.
I did a SSDI date search - anyone named Eugenia born on 24 September 1904. There were two possibilities of which one, Eugenia Williams, died 21 November 1976 in Texas, appears to be the very self same Anna Mabel Eugenia Johnson. Her middle name was recorded as Wickard so it looks like there was another husband interposed between Stoney and Williams. Whether she was ever married to Robert Logan remains unknown.

Eugenia Johnson married F. Rozier Wickard in 1941. She said she had been divorced in Miami.

And he seems to have died in 1955.

Were Eugenia's parents Joseph Johnson and Ida E (Eugenia, I believe) Dahl? If so, she can be found as Anna M in the 1905 census with parents and Dahl grandparents.
Looks like the Jean mentioned above may be the mother of Robert's children. There is a Social Security record naming a child with these 2 parents.

Thanks, PB. That looks like it. How did I miss that record? Where did you find it?

It's on "A...ry". If I remember correctly, I just put in both last names with a location USA.

I keep telling myself that maybe I should resubscribe to Ancestry. Thanks again.

Hi Erato
I note that RJ137 has posted the record for you now but......
I was wondering if you have checked whether your local public library subscribes to Ancestry Library Edition? This would give you access to the records and censuses (but not trees, if I remember correctly). Also, I didn't check to see if the record could be found on familysearch.
