Hello.
I am trying to trace a grave for an Elizabet Napier, born 1936 and died 1st January 1946
Can anyone advise me on how to find out if this is the correct cemetery and if so, how to go about finding her gravesite ?
Thanks

Have you tried writing to the South Lanarkshire Bereavement dept to ask if they have any record of her?
Email addy: bereavement.services@southlanarkshire.gov.uk
Phone No: 0303 123 1016
They may make a charge for looking up their records.

You appear to have an exact date of death. Does that mean you have her death certificate? If so where does it say she died and is there an address of any kind mentioned? Do you know who her parents were?
What information do you have on Elizabeth and her family?

Hello and thanks for the responses.
Was living in 9 Millgate Road Hamilton at time of death, although died in Royal Infirmary on 31/1/1946.
Elizabeth Liddle Napier was only 8years old. Parents were William Napier and Agnes (maiden name Blair), he was working as a bricklayer.
Still looking into family for more detail.
Where do you look with these details that may help ? (the email you gave I guess) !!
Cheers
Gordon

I wonder if she was buried in the same district in which her death was recorded, i.e. Townhead, burgh of Glasgow.
Write to the South Lanarkshire bereavement office first and see what they say. Make sure you give them all the details that you have about her death. Hopefully they will either find a burial record or tell you where you can look.
Good luck. :)
