Hi, I am looking for information on William Dickson born 20.4.1936. I don’t know where.
He joined the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and became a sergeant. Number 23505282.
I know about his wife and family but nothing on his parents. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you, I have his marriage information he died either 2011/12 in Leeds. I am struggling to find a birth for him could possibly Edinburgh as there is a connection to Edinburgh.

What information does the marriage give for his father. Are the witnesses any help

You really need the marriage certificate to take this back further. As you are giving us no clue as to where the marriage took place we can only guess where he may have come from. I am not seeing a record that matches him in 1939 with the date of birth you have given. The only William Dickson with no middle initial on the GRO index for that birth 'date' was born Rochdale area and appears to have married there in 1956. I will not post any information on him as hopefully he is still living

I will have to contact family as we are not related so I haven’t access to the records. Will get back to them and see if I can obtain more information.
