Can anyone help please:
Trying to find any information on Rose Montgomery's birth and parents.
There are no parents listed for her death in 1936.
Rose married Robert Shanks in1892 Sydney, NSW.
They had three children that I can find.
1) Robert born 1892 died 1972?
2) John born ?
John married Marion Peterson/Patterson not sure if this is her maiden name or a middle name. they had one son George M Shanks.
3) Agnes Jane born 1910 died 1984 never married.
I have some information on the Shanks family but none at all for Rose Montgomery most information that I have has been found through the NSW BDM's and the Trove website.
There is a Rose Ann Montgomery in the NSW BDM but after doing some research on her I don't think she is the Rose Montgomery that I am looking for.
Any information on her would be greatly appreciated.

Whar document gives you info about Rose marrying in Sydney ...

An official transcription of the NSW BDM's registration for the 1892 marriage should give you information that the bride and the groom gave when they were organising their marriage. It should include the names of their parents, their fathers' occupations, their mums' nee names, their own ages, usual addresses and occupations...
NSW BDM online index has #1111/1892 for that marriage. Drill down and it was 2 July 1892. It is likely that the 1892 Sydney marriage registration has been fully reconciled by NSW BDM and should have been endorsed with the various registers to include the details re parentages, ages etc... assuming it was a church marriage.

Hi Jm, many thanks for the response.......I don't have any document information on Rose Montgomery at the moment, the information I have is just what I have been able to get from the Births, Deaths and Marriages Family History website also the Trove newspaper archive website.

www.trove.nla has a death entry for Rose Shanks in 1936
SHANKS.— July 22. 1936, at Royal Prince Alfred
Hospital, Rose, beloved wife of Robert Shanks,
and fond mother of Robert, John, and Agnes.
Aged 66 years. At Rest.
So looks like she was born c 1870 and perhaps even intestate or overseas.

You need the marriage certificate as Rose's death reg does not detail parents.

Incidentally the Rose ANN MONTGOMERY born 1870 at Bathurst is not your Rose. Just to save you wasting your time and money.
There is no headstone for Rose at Rookwood.
