I’m looking for information on William Davidson born abt 1860 in Edinburgh. He died on 17/11/1923 in Burton on Trent. He was in the leather trade and had (as far as I’m aware) 3 factories in Leicester and 1 in Burton. He had a daughter with a lady called Rose Bull, the daughter was Lily Rollett and she was born in around 1896. William and Rose were not married to our knowledge.
Any information anyone can give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

There is a William Davidson who fits the description of the 1911 entry in 1881 lodging in Burnley, Lancashire

Aidan Ignatius Rollett married Rose Bull, Jun qtr 1898 Leicester.
He was born in Leicestershire in 1868 and died there in 1951.

Did Lily marry (1917 Leicester) as Lily A Rollett to John Barry? If so her birthdate was 5 March 1896.

Why do you think he was born in Edinburgh?
Scotlandspeople have William's born in 1858 or 1862 in Edinburgh City, just for info.

There seem to be at least 3 WIlliam Ds born around 1860, Bolton
There is a marriage 1876 for William Davidson and Catherine Nasmythe with a child Jane, born and died 1878.
Haven’t found them in 1881.

There is a published tree with William and spouses
Mary Ann Burditt 1886
Elsie Mary Parker in 1921 and children.
It shows the death in 1923 also plus a photo.
There are some odd things too though.

That’s all really interesting thank you. I do think the Scottish connection will be John Davidson (possibly his father). It would be interesting to see the published tree - am I able to see it?
