Marriage was:
Sept qtr 1939
Wrexham Registration District     vol 11b, page 777

There's this birth:
June qtr 1918
Wrexham RD     vol 11b, page 376a
Barker, Daphne E C     Mother's maiden name: Ormrod

Maybe a misread of middle names?

What father's name is given on the Marriage Certificate?

Newspaper report of the Barker-Ormrod marriage

The Ormrods seem to have connections with cotton manufacturing in Lancashire, as well as employees in Ruabon - see report of Beatruce's father's coming of age celebrations in https://newspapers.library.wales/view/3854238/3854246/50/ (under Ruabon, third column from right)

Yes thanks,  this all ties in..
The Barkers lived in Pickhill Hall and Lionel F W Barker left his money to Michael James Gibbon, his brother in law  (Daphne E C Barker being his sister)

Cheshire Observer 06 May 1939

The engagement is announced between
Michael James Gibbon, elder son of the late
Captain James Gibbon and of Mrs. Gibbon,
of Abberton Hall, Pershore, Worcestershire,
and Daphne Gabrielle Clemency, only
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Worsley
Barker, and grand-daughter of Oliver Orm-
rod, Pickhill Hall, Wrexham.

The Bystander 21 June 1939 has a section called Getting Married, where Daphne's portrait is shown, with similiar info as above. I am not sure if I break copyright rules if I post it here?  If you are interested in seeing it, you can private message me an email address so I can send it.

There is a picture of both Daphne's mother and father in a marriage announcement in the The Sketch 16 December 1914 if you are interested.  The snippet under Francis Worsley Barker's picture states that he is the elder son of Major-General Sir George Barker K.C.B. and Lady Barker, of Stanford Place, Faringdon, Berks.

Hope some of that helps!

Edit: Just found a very long article on the funeral of Major General George Barker which states he was born 17 Dec 1850, died 05 Mar 1903 (which would have been a typo, as the article is 1930).  His father was the late Col. G. Barker.  As well as mentioning a few sons, a daughter, Mrs. Bright, is mentioned.

Children Charles J (1941-1963), A W (1944) F J (1946)  and P S (1948)

The children born in the 1940s, except Charles J, could still be alive.  If you don't know that they've died, please could you remove their names and replace with initials (RootsChat policy).

Hi, Sorry to thread necro, thought this may be of some interest to you.

I've been cycling around Worcestershire visiting Churchyards on my route and taking a few photos at each site.
I happened to capture the memorial for Daphne Gibbon at Abberton.
I've put it on FindAGrave - https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/226700441/daphne-gabrielle_clemency-gibbon

Hope this is ok and helpful in any way.
