Hi everyone
looking for some help tracing the above family
Patrick Doyle (born c.1865, Co Down) married Mary Anne O'Rourke (born 1870, Co Down) in 1895 in new York in November 1895, and their first child John was born in USA.
Their daughter Mary Anne was born in Ireland on 15 May 1899.
The must therefore have return to Ireland between 1896 and 1899 - and I am not having any luck finding them on a passenger list.
This is them on the 1901 census in Ireland

The son John returned to the USA, when he was older as did some of his siblings, but its the family coming home pre 1899 that I can't find details of
I am looking for details of the Doyle family in Ireland, so any help much appreciated.
I know Patrick's parents are Margaret Sawey and John Doyle (as per his marriage) but this is all I have so far.
This is me working backwards from someone I know is related to try and find the connection!

Ancestry has passenger records for UK Incoming from USA to Queenstown or perhaps Liverpool.

Not all the UK Incoming passenger lists survived, the information they contained between 1896 - 1899 would not positively identify your Doyles - they give very limited information.
A 1897 list showed a Patrick Doyle returning from NY - aged 31 years but he was single - labourer.
Another 1897 shows another Doyle family but different names.
Sorry nothing for Patrick, Margaret and John that I could see.

It looks like you have this marriage record, maybe even the image. familysearch transcribed his mother's maiden name as Sarney, no image available on their site.

There are 9 John Doyle births in Manhattan, 1896 to 1898, you could probably eliminate some in early 1896 and late 1898, especially, based on the birth of the next child.

Do you know when either of them arrived in NY? I don't find either on the 1892 census of Manhattan, as found at familysearch, but that doesn't mean they weren't there.
The 1890 US census is lost to fire, so there aren't a lot of records to find them on anyway. John's birth might be all, for the civil records. There probably are Manhattan city directories available, but I doubt they included the wife's name - even then there could have been more than one Pat and Mary Doyle couple.
Where were her O'Rourkes from? Mine are from South Down.
