Hello! I am new on this website. Hope somebody can help me with deciphering of a couple of 19th century documents in old German. Would be very thankful. Here is pictures of one part.

Just to help us a bit more......do you know what these are extracts from? Are they part of a letter or ...?

That's witness claims that would give proof of gentry. It was Genik Berezowski family from Eastern Galizien (Austro Hungarian Empire) that was trying to proof their origins in 1838. I can read names like Basyli, Hryhor, Jan Genik berezowski... Anna geboren Katynska... Anna geboren Drohomirecka... Michael Ginik Berezowski, but I don't know German and can't guess the other words to understand what it is said about all of them.

I'm no expert on the old stuff  :) but I can't make any sense of the text at all. Am I having a bad evening, or could it possibly be e.g. Latin?  ???

It is German Kurrent handwriting for sure.

here is my try.

Die eheleiblichen Aeltern (Eltern ?) der Brüder Basyli und Hryhor heißen Jan Genik Berezowski und Anna, geborene Katynska.
Basyli u(nd) Hryhor hatten noch einen Bruder Michael Jan u. dieser nebst seiner Ehegattin Anna geb. Drohomirecka waren Eltern des Michael Genic Berezowski welcher ....... ....

I think it could read

Michael Genic Berezowski welcher...... Zeugnisse bey (bei) land.........

The rest is hard reading, maybe a place name?

Mind you, I have just found it and it looks like gebornium. I think I'll desist from trying to help this weekend - I'm obviously having a crap phase as far as handwriting-deciphering goes..!

Thank you very much Peonie!!! You helped me to understand their relations! I am not sure about the word before "Jan u. dieser nebst", for me after I reading the text over and over again it looks not like "Michael" but like "Nahmen" - maybe it means "son with the name Jan".

Thank you very much Dave! Yes the last word on the page is a name of the neighbours village Lucza. Can you understand what is written on the backpage (the second picture)?
