Thanks all..the restorations were much successful than I thought possible so I am rather chuffed at these efforts! Can someone offer an estimation of the period it was taken? Much appreciated. Rob

It looks Edwardian Period to me, - so roughly 1900 - 1919?

Thanks Romilly - that's interesting because there is a family story that this photo dates from the 1860s! However it is only a story and maybe fanciful at that!!  Cheers, Rob

Hi Rob, this is a relatively 'low resolution' scan. I understand that it may be the only digital image you have, but if you're able to make a higher resolution one, you'll get a higher qualiy restore.

Not 1860s..it would be a very different format to this, more early 1900s. I agree with Mike on the scan. 300dpi resolution would be best. The fie size is only 36kb and you can post up to 500kbs on here.
