I thought it could possibly be Eliza but the C at the start of Charles is exactly the same as the start of this name. On the transcription it's down as Clara, but I'm not convinced.

 I too think it’s Eliza.
Bottom of the next page there is an Elizabeth with the E written exactly the same way as in your snip.

It looks like Eliza to me too. At first glance and several other looks.
