Title: Joseph Clark(e) & Maria Harding - Great Marlow
Post by: squawki11 on Tuesday 22 January 19 07:47 GMT (UK)
Brickwalled, again! Can anybody point me towards their parents/grandparents, please? They both appear to have been born, married and died in Great Marlow, Joseph 27/3/1805 - 15/11/1878; Maria 18/4/1811 - 4/10/1881, married 20/10/1832. I'd like to be able to identify 3 & 4 ggp if possible...

Thanks, Rosie, for your help. Perhaps I should have inserted "c." before all dates bar marriage? My usual approach is to treat such dates as possibly baptism/burial and I dare not let on whence they came for fear of recrimination but they are available from public FTs.

GRO death index doesn't always agree with birth dates: it would have Joseph born 1803, however, Maria's dob/dod is in line with GRO. Of course that depends on whether any of this info is correct or just appears to conveniently fit.

I'm 1 pair short of the set of 3ggp but 8 short for 4ggp. Most on the paternal side...7:2! Are they otherwise all correct? I'm deeply suspicious of 1 and content with the rest.

Rosie, I've had a look at FreeReg, a site I've used before but had forgotten. Don't think it aided clarity, other than the Great Marlow wedding in 1832. I might try Bucks GS/FHS...thanks for the contact.
