Hello, I am looking for information on a family whose surname is Sullivan, and who went to Moundsville, West Virginia, USA... A Mr. John Chester Sullivan, born 1898 ish, would be my grandfather. When he grew up, Mr. John C. Sullivan had a farm of 50 acres at Moundsville. There is a road in Moundsville named Sullivan road, which I think may have lead out to his place, but I do not know for ceetain. I am hoping to find out about thier life in Moundsville, or any memories anyone may have of them. Thank you.

There was a John C Sullivan born 1898 Pennsylvania living in Moundsville in 1930 with a family but he was a plumber ???

Hi, and thank you for all of your replies. I have already done the tracing of the line, right back to the 1600's. I am now hoping to find anyone who actually knew them or there descendants in Moundsville. I am sorry I should have made it cearer in my post. I appreciate you all taking the time to reply.

Hello, Yes, thank you; it's a good idea, and I have ie facebook. I have considered the local newspapers, but tbh, I have also been in touch with a couple of lingering very old family relatives, so I decided not to. Posting here is more of a reach out to anyone who may still be alive and moved away from that area; ie either themselves, or thier surviving family members.

Are there any actual American sites you can use, as this one is far more English based?
If you also want to contact family members, have you put your family tree on e.g. ancestry or rootsweb, etc?

We haven't got enough information on John Chester Sullivan in this instance. If we have the proper information we can follow families forward in the USA and have a good success rate. . Once we have that information we can search US public records, newspapers, sites like spokeo, zabasearch, people finder and lots of others. Any information on living people which the OP is looking for would obviously need to be passed by pm.
RootsChat has a section of the bottom of each page in the brown section under "Your Tools" - "Surnames Index" where you can add the surname you are searching and check if there are any others researching the same names. Can come in handy if someone comes along at a later date.
