I’ve been unable to reliably trace the Fearn family back further than William Fearn born 1800 in Derbyshire and died 1874 Brassington, Derbyshire. Married Sarah Baseley in 1817 in Carsington and they had a son, Joseph, in 1820. As Sarah was aged 42 by then, it’s possible that she was a widow. I’ve been unable find their 1841 census record. Any suggestions on where to look would be very much appreciated.

Going by the 1851 census Sarah was 25 years older than William who would have been 17 when they married.
I see that William is a stone mason in the 1851 census. They appear to have stayed in the Carsington area.
I'll try the 1841 census using the stone mason and see if that helps.
-
Unless they have been wildly mistranscribed I cannot see William and Sarah in the 1841 census. They may have been missed off or elsewhere, who knows?
The 1851 says that William was born in Middleton, Derbyshire and Sarah in Tissington, Derbyshire.
-
I see that Middleton is close to Wirksworth and there is a baptism for a William Fearn on 13 May 1799 at Wirksworth. Parents are William and Rebecca.
I would consider this to be a strong contender for your William.

Oh good I'm so glad you have found them in 1841 Rosie and Chempat. Don't know why I couldn't find them.
Ah I can see now why I didn't find them. I was using different birth years.
I've found what is probably the parents marriage:-
26th April 1798 at Wirksworth, William Fern to Rebecca Watson
-
Thank you so much, everyone!
-
Does the marriage of William & Sarah give any additional information, sorry I can't see it online
-
The marriage is online as a transcription on FindMyPast. No image available.
Married at Wappenham, Northampton on 4 March 1817

Thank you GG, that is why I was querying it as the only one I could see that matched was that Northants one whereas OP says married in Carsington. Those places are approx 90 miles apart ;D
Married Sarah Baseley in 1817 in Carsington

I would have thought that this marriage in Wirksworth was more likely though it obviously needs more research
