Title: September 1963 Express and Star lookup request please - PATE
Post by: marpate1 on Monday 11 February 19 10:40 GMT (UK)
Hi all,

We are looking for an article written in the Express and Star following what we believe was the closure of the Bridgnorth Railway Station on 9th September 1963. The article would have been published within the week of the closure and covers my Grandfather, Albert Pate, driving a train (most likely steam) back to the station much to the amusement of the local people. Severn Valley Railway knows nothing of this and it would be great to not only have a copy of the piece for my father, but to update SVR on an important piece of their history.

If anyone is able to take a look it would be very much appreciated.

Edited to add that Albert lived in Woden Rd., Wolverhampton hence why I posted this in Staffordshire rather than Shropshire.

Kind regards,
Mark
