Title: Help with a Scottish Parish Register Please.
Post by: Pennines on Monday 11 February 19 20:55 GMT (UK)
Can anyone please make out the word AFTER 'weaver' on the following baptism for Blythe?

It looks like 'Callon' without the quotes -- but if it is, what is Callon? It doesn't seem to be a location.
The Parish is Barony, Glasgow.
Many thanks if you can help.

The Calton in Glasgow's east-end, a community of hand-weavers, famous for the strike of 1787.

Oh wow -- thank you all so much you helpful Rootschatters. I really appreciate your suggestions - I'm trying to help a friend and I am not that familiar with Scottish geography and the like.

That's great.
