Title: Bristol car manufacture 1914 -- the CONDICK model

I have known for a while that my great-uncle George Condick was involved with the design and manufacture of cars. Today an Australian relative sent the attached photograph, showing the 'Condick' a car produced by the Bristol Wagon & Carriage Works, and evidently the work of G/U George. A glance at the BWCW Wikipedia entry doesn't mention that they manufactured cars at all. Does anyone know anything more about either the BWCW or (a long shot I know) the design career of G/U George?

Looks like they manufactured bodies to fit a chassis made by one of the automobile manufacturer's and were also involved in selling them.

I do feel that 1914 was not the best time for George to be venturing into car design. Your comment that the BWCC was 'buying in' automobile bodies makes sense (although I must say I know absolutely nothing about car manufacture at this or any other date).

By 1933, by the way, I found a newspaper reference George as the manager of a garage in Bristol, which suggests that he'd abandoned his design dreams by then.
