Hello,
I am sorry to ask for another look up but am having little luck with Ancestry and Family Search with my family, their records don't seem to be on there but some lovely people on here have been able to help me with finding records and I wondered if I might prevail on your kindness again please?
Mary and Samuel Simpkins/Simkins seem to have had 4 children in the Brewood area (Mary 1807, Elizabeth 1811, Thomas 1814 and John 1817).
I think (but am still investigating) that Mary married William Austin as a widow in 1825 at Brewood and I think he dies in 1827 and is buried in Bilsdon. She then married as a widow to James Purchase 4 May 1827 and is with him in the 1841 (with John Whittingham grandson - son of her daughter Mary).
Samuel is elusive though as is Mary's marriage to him.
Mary was born around 1874 from the 1841 census and I think she dies in 1851 (PURCHASE, MARY 66 GRO Reference: 1851 S Quarter in PENKRIDGE Volume 17 Page 69). From this I am guessing Samuel was born around 1780 and married around 1806 assuming Mary was their first child. If Mary who married William Austin is relevant to me then I am guessing Simon died around 1817 to 1825.
Please could someone look to see if there is a birth, marriage and death relevant to Simon (I am trying to find evidence of him and Mary's maiden name).
Thanks for reading through this slightly lengthy post.
Best wishes,
Emma

Thank you Willow, you help is very much appreciated and this info is amazing. I think when my ancestry membership runs out in July I will switch to FindMyPast for a bit as I have lots of records that I can't trace and maybe this is the place to find them.
I have been searching Family Search and ancestry for Samuel Simkin's birth around 1762 but can't find anything.
I love the fact that I can now add two new families to my tree.
Thanks again

Wow, what a fantastic document, hopefully I can get back to 1644 and can then go back to the 1500s using this! That would be brilliant. Thanks again :)

Sorry to ask you another question, but is it possible Samuel was born outside of the parish? Was it easy for people to move around Staffordshire around 1762 ?(when my Dorset family moved to Devon in the early 1700s they had to have settlement papers).
-
I think people moved around a lot in Staffordshire and I have never seen any mention of settlement papers so it must have been easily done
FindMyPast has the following possible baptisms
27.6.1725 Cannock Samuel Simkin father Sam(uel)
1733 St Mathews Walsall Samuel Simkin parents John and Sarah
17.9.1734 Darlaston Samuel Simkin parents William and Mary

Ah OK thank you very much, I guess there was probably more happening in Staffordshire than Dorset! I have noticed that over time, alot of my Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire family moved to Staffordshire, mostly to do mining.
Thanks for looking up the births. I think mine was born c 1762 as these people were born a little earlier Walsall, Darlaston and Cannock might well be places to start looking as they could have come from there (one of them may even be my Samuel's future dad as fornames are often passed on).
Thanks for getting back to me
:) x
