Title: John Barnabas Johnson b Dec 1830 Yorkshire and Mary Ann Preston b May 1833
Post by: Cockneyrebel on Tuesday 05 March 19 10:21 GMT (UK): The above couple emigrated to the US btw 1866 and 1868 and had 13 children, I think 10 were born in Yorkshire and 3 in Lyons, New York. Findagrave has found some of them in Lyons Rural Cemetery but I'm unsure without any photos whether they are all in the same family especially Prudence E 1858-1941?
Most of the children I can account for but am missing m and d's for John b Q3 1854, Amelia b Q1 1857, Emma b Jan 1861, Mary 'Mattie' bc 1867, Nellie or Ellen Preston who m James P Cornell in 1899 in Kings and Thomas Walter b Feb 1865 who m Anna V or B Johnson 1887 in Kings, the latter were on the 1940 Census living at Seneca, Ontario, New York on a farm.
Obviously Prudence also is a mystery as I'm not sure about her especially as I can find no birth for her prior to their emigration.
Most of the family appear on the 1870 US census at 589, Lyons, Wayne.

The obit/death notice for Iva J nee Johnson Myers gave her sister as Mrs W E Austin.

According to Eber's obit his mother was Lydia Harper, at 1900 Frank was a widower and Anna was divorced at different homes. Lydia Kelsey passed away 4 Jul 1897 Galen, New York, so presumably she was Frank's 1st wife. If Frank married Anna 1900-1910 then Eber and Bliss aren't their sons? The daughter Grace mentioned in Frank's obit could be their daughter but there doesn't seem to be any records for her?

Sorry for misunderstanding about Anna Johnson, if she was divorced at 1900, I wonder who she married and if there were any children from that marriage? I am of the belief that she was Ann Elizabeth Johnson b Q3 1852 Pocklington, Yorkshire-what do you think? According to the censuses Anna was b 1854 which means to me that she was the twin of John Johnson-do you know when he passed away-he was in Lyons on the 1910 census?
Is there any further info on Charles Joseph Schott?
Also the passings of Thomas Walter Johnson and his wife Anna V Johnson, presumably after 1940?
Last one missing is Mary "Mattie" Johnson last recorded on 1880 census?

The Peck family originated in Connecticut - it was the Massey family who originated in Gloucestershire.

John, I explored the "Peck" avenue for you to find out if it might be linked to Mary Preston Johnson in some way because of the Preston name and the close proximity to your family in Wayne NY. Especially Grace and Eber Kelsey being step brothers and sisters. I didn't have time to explore the Sarah Peck connection to find out who her parents were, what her maiden name was, so i will leave that angle for you if you wish to explore further since you have discounted that angle without it being completed.
