Title: Charles Victor Jackson's Wife
Post by: Kim2000 on Sunday 10 March 19 14:10 GMT (UK)
I have been doing my family tree and the only person I am struggling to find anything on is my great-great-grandmother.

I was told by my grandmother that the name of her own grandfather was Charles Victor Jackson (1888-1979) who I believe lived in Hull all of his life.
Well, my grandmother told me that his wife's name was Mary McCarthy but I am struggling to find anything about her.

They had a daughter named Winifred Jackson.

Could any of you find a marriage certificate, her birthdate, her parents, or anything please?
I would be immensely grateful.

Thank you.

Hello,
Do you have details of Winifred’s birth? Year, parents shown on certificate etc.

Ladyhawk, does that mean Charles served in the navy or something similar?

There is a published tree which shows Charles Victor Jackson’s Naval  record.
He seems to have left in 1910.
In 1911 indexes he is with wife Sarah.

My grandmother was probably mistaken on the name then. So, do you know anything about Sarah Ellen Warcup, please, or more of Charles's naval history?

I must add that the published tree does not mention his marriage to Sarah Ellen.

It shows his wife as Mary McCarthy but no marriage.

It then shows Mary McCarthy’s marriage to William Hitchin - the one I found and posted earlier.

It seems a bit odd.
