Title: Royal Air Force member in Ontaio, Canada
Post by: jbanting on Monday 11 March 19 03:21 GMT (UK)
I am looking for any information on an RAF member named (Ginger) Jones born about 1915 who was posted to Ontario, Canada in 1942.  He was from South Wales.
Thanks
Jim

Jones is a very common name in Wales, and "Ginger" is obviously a nickname, do you have anymore details.

Afraid not except his name may have been John, not much better than Ginger, and I believe he was in bomber command.    Tried all sites like Fold3, News papers and memorials.  All the people who knew him are now dead. This is a real fishing expedition I know but have run out of options.

From a military standpoint what was he doing in Canada in 1942 if he was in Bomber Command.

England had been at war for 3 years.

Look at politics what kind of agreements did Britain have with Canada etc. if you know why he was there it will narrow down your search

Probably with British Commonwealth Air Traing Plan No. 31 Picton, Ontario or No. 6 Mountain View, Ontario.  Most likely Picton

His service record will not be online; they are with the  MOD.
