Could I please have a date for this CdV? My estimate was late 1860's - early 1870's :-\
I have one other on the identical cardstock which was dated by Jim to early 1870's https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=602389.msg4519801#msg4519801
The man appears to be wearing a long jacket with contrasting coloured trousers which Jim tells me was fashionable in the late 1860's :-\ https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=756499.msg6064042#msg6064042
Any confirmation/ contradiction welcomed!

Your post seems to have dropped out of sight, Jen. (Perhaps we need a tweak to the system so that unanswered posts stay at the top. :-\)
I'm no expert but I think you wouldn't be far out. (Actually, going by your last few requests I think you could get a job here as a dating guru yourself. :))
Anyway, I hope one of the experts will now see it and confirm your estimate.
Cheers,
Peter

Mid-late 1870's.
Thanks Jim. I was wrong again! Please could you give me some pointers as to why it's later than I thought?
Many thanks again.

The design is typical late 70's & rounded corners on cardstock arrived around mid decade.

Thank you Jim, and I see now that on the earlier thread I linked to you said the same thing :-[ I must have misread it, put it down to my being rather unwell at the moment!

Hope you feel better soon.

I second that, JenB; plenty of rest. My sister got shingles just after Christmas so I know how painful & longlasting it is. I was fortunate enough to qualify for the vaccination as soon as I reached 70 a few years ago - it doesn't totally prevent you getting it but the symptoms should be milder.

Thanks all :) I'm getting there slowly. Yesterday I hung some washing out. Today I've been to Tesco.
It's an exciting time for me ;D

It's amazing how small improvements can make humdrum events seem exciting ;D ;D
