The above emigrated to Canada 6 Jun 1907 with his parents and 2 siblings. He married Gladys Margaret Guyatt 7 Apr 1922 York, Ontario, and after that they both disappear?
His brother Albert James Read b 10 Mar 1902 m Kathleen Amelia Partrick 1 Jan 1925 York did the same as did his sister, Florence Maud Read b 1 Feb 1905 m Kenneth Ernest Bartlett 3 Sep 1923 York.
Their other sister Viola Beatrice Read b 12 Jul 1908 in York, you've already tried to find regarding her passing away but found out more about her husband Leslie Arthur Colbourne in another post, but not her passing yet?

It's a Montana Late Birth Registration for Charles W Read born April 13 1903 Butte, Silver Bow , Montana. His parents have the right names but are said to be born in Pennsylvania. His occupation , electrician is also correct. The document is dated 10 May 1947.

Leslie Colborne (mach opr - r 141 Westminster) shows in Buffalo, New York, City Directory, 1939 but no wife. Anc tree says Viola was in hospital in Toronto 1939. Perhaps RK could check if there is an obituary for Viola Colborne at that time - just incase she passed away.

Charles W Read died at his home on 1 October 1974. In his 75th year. Husband of Myrtis (Macklin). Brother of Florence Ridgewell of London Ontario, Art Farrow of Scarborough, the late Albert James Read and the late Viola Colbourne. Interment York Cemetery. Masonic service.

Thank you all for your once again superb research. I can't say that I understand the document that says he was born in 1903 unless it was some sort of insurance scam?
It appears that Charles married again to Myrtis (Macklin), did he divorce Gladys or did she pass away?
The obit from RK says that Albert passed away before Charles-is there an obit for him?
It seems that Florence married again to Ridgewell whereas she was married to Kenneth Ernest Bartlett 3 Sep 1923 in York?
So many more questions?

The Canadian Attestation Papers for Charles William Read we gave in an earlier thread also had a differing birth date if you remember. 13 April 1898...... ??? Seems he liked to change it......... ::)

Going sideways - the sister of Kathleen Partrick married Lorenzo Joseph Martel 11 June 1932 - Weston, York, Ontario. Margaret born 1909 was 23 years old.
Margaret Martel passed away 18 June 1997 Bellesville Ontario. 18 June 1997.
The Bellesville Public Library have an obit listed for Maragert nee Partrick Martel - which may or may not give information on her sister Kathleen Amelia who married Albert James Read.

Don't know who Menatta is? Gladys's parents were Nathan Guyott and Julia Smith according to the marriage record 7 Apr 1922.

Mennetta Lillian Truefit was the second wife of Harold Guyatt (brother of Glady).Harold and Mennetta could have had a son and daughter. Seems he divorced Isabella M Brodie.
Harold may have passed away in 1970 but no source or more positive proof (I am making a note of this - just in case kind hearted RK can see obituaries for thos two ???)

The standard "Notice to Creditors" about Mennetta's estate (she died Feb 24 1969) says she was also known as Mary Lillian Guyatt or Lillian Guyatt. Executor is her husband Harold.

Notice in the Toronto Star Jan 24 1930 page 2...Harold Guyatt was convicted of bigamy. Isabelle Melville Guyatt says she married Harold in Jan of 1928 and lived with him until April 1929. Apparently, she left him. Harold married Mary Helen Eldridge in May of 1929. Looks like he was still married to Isabelle at that time.

No seeing Harold's obit at the moment.
FOund obit for Nathan Guyatt - Gladys's father. He died March 15 1951 at Sunnybrook Hospital (in Toronto). Husband of the late Julia Smith Guyatt. Father of Nathan, Gladys (Mrs C Read) and Harold. Interment Prospect Cemetery.

Great RK, Mrs C Read doesn't want to be found at mo but she could have remarried ??? One of the anc trees suggests that maybe a few times - but who k nows ::)
I think Julia Guyatt might have passed in 1949 but not proven.
Harold sounds like a character.

I found a note that Florence put in the Toronto Star paper in July 1963 in memory of her brother Albert James Read. It says he died July 13 1962. I checked the Globe paper and there is no obit for him. I tried to look in the Star, but there don't seem to be any papers available between July 13 and July 16 1962. Very odd.

Thank you once again RK. Had a reply from Belleville library regarding the obit for Margaret Martel nee Partrick, Kathleen's sister, they say they can do it on Monday for free as it will take them less than 15 minutes to do.
Still no answers regarding Gladys from the Anc trees.

Further information gleaned from the library at Belleville says that Kathleen Partrick passed away before Margaret who passed away 15/6/1997.
A contact on Anc says Gladys passed away 1994 Toronto and buried Prospect Cemetary, they say that they believe that Gladys married twice after Charles death and don't know about Myrtis Macklin.
Alina Wergo passed away 16 Jan 2014 Sunnybrook Hospital and b 1930, she and James had 3 children.
Still no further forward with Florence and Mr Ridgewell?
