I have been tracing john james watt  born liverpool1886 his father of the same name was born Ireland 1855 his father Thomas watt 1825c Ireland he married ellen murray 1854 

I am now trying to trace his father james watts 1809c antrim Ireland could be parkgate area not much to go on but it is all I have at just now any help would be great I am at the brick wall  thankyou howto

The marriage in 12 May 1854 is in Muckamore Antrim
Thomas and Ellen Murray .Fathers James and John.
It is also a Civil marriage registration so I'd assume C of Ireland.

Why  ??? All that is sure is that it is non-Catholic. So, could be Presbyterian, Registry Office, etc.

In 1881 they are at Croston Court (address same as on marriage)
James Watt 25 bn Ireland
Catherine 22 bn Liverpool
Ellen age 1 bn Liverpool

Where do I start looking for any info on james watt 1809c I would like to find the marriage any help would be appreciated    howto

Are you saying that Thomas Watt born c1825 is the son of a James Watt born c1809? If so, then James was about 16 when son Thomas was born which is not impossible but unlikely. Where did you get James as born c1809 and why 'could be Parkgate'? Occupation?

Finding pre-registration records depends on surviving church records so you'll need to know their religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland) to see what records might be available to search.

hi Thomas 1829 was james son I havnt any prove that the year is correct all I have is the info on Thomas marr cert that is why I am stuck  thankyou for help    howto

What details are on Thomas' marriage certificate? In addition to names of both fathers & their occupations there will be names of 2 witnesses, place marriage took place, officiant, etc. ALL these details are needed to search further.

 muckamore Presbyterian church 12 may 1854 Thomas father james labourer

ellen father john labourer   witness thomas

phillips  looks like john hoirtgalliery very hard to read just cant make out Thomas residence at time of marriage sorry that is all I can make out what do you suggest I do now   I am new to this as you might have guessed hope you can help thankyou for your time    howto

I see that the John James Watt birth I quoted earlier in 1885 is not your John James

 hi john james 1855 married Catherine hanneberry in 1878 as on cert father Thomas watts 1829 gardener
john james 1855 uses the name james  they both lived in croston court Liverpool when married


john james born 1886  was the son of john james 1855 he married a Elizabeth hamer in1915 this is my husbands grandparents   thankyou for your time   howto
