Title: John Julius Hansen
Post by: aidansrest on Wednesday 17 April 19 16:42 BST (UK)
Hi

I have had some fantastic help with John Julius Hansen's wives, but now need help with him.

All I know is that he was a seaman at the time of his first marriage in 1870 and a fishmonger at the time of his second marriage in 1893.

He was 26 years of age in 1870, and 48 years of age in 1893 - both times he named his father as Peter Hansen (mariner), who was deceased at the time of his first marriage.

I suspect he was from Norway - but only a guess!

Thanks

Sue

Sorry! Both his wives were came from Sunderland and he married them there both times.
However, he never appears with either wife on any census and, by 1901, he and his second wife,  Elizabeth Jane (formerly Tindle) appear to have parted as she is listed as Elizabeth Jane Tindle once more.
All I know of him is from his marriage certificates, confirming his age, occupation and father's name.
No trace of him after his last marriage in 1893, although his final child with Elizabeth Jane, Elsie, was born on the 18th March 1901.

Your interest in John Julius HANSEN is continued from your enquiry on the Durham, England board -
....Jane Elizabeth or Elizabeth BARRON......

I think it would be better to continue your research on the Durham board. You have written up all the information on the two marriage certificates. You can use BDM, Census, newspaper resources to expand on your knowledge of his life in Durham.

What children did he have......where is he buried...is there a death record to find for him in England...etc

There are numerous HANSENs in Durham. Your HANSEN might have been born in England.
