Title: WILLIAM SALT LIBRARY STAFFORD
Post by: maggie may on Saturday 20 April 19 20:51 BST (UK)
any one going to the William Salt Library at any stage.?  wanting to see if any more info given on plot numbers in the Ipstones Churchyard . I seem to be going round in circles
with the Stafford council on this info . I am looking for two plot numbers  for two graves there . if anyone is visiting there  can they let me know and   I can give the info . I would like to see these graves when I visit the Uk again  . I am not expecting to find headstones for this couple but just if I can locate the actual spot in the churchyard. The minister of the church has been most helpful searching  but said all records are at the council now told at the Library . This amazes me in our country you can go on line and find these things yourself and give a plot number . so so frustrating  ??? any help would be much appreciated
 Happy Easter everyone .

I am pretty sure it has closed now,and moved to Stafford archives, which is virtually next door.

IF you get a plot plan, add it to find-a-grave.
It's what I've been doing locally.
Turned out to be jolly useful when someone else did it, I thought I'd reciprocate.

I don't think it has closed.

Lichfield Record Office (just a few miles away from Stafford), HAS now closed.
It used to hold all the wills for the Diocese of Lichfield, (copies of which are on findmypast on film, but if you want to see the 'real thing', they are now at Stafford), plus many other documents.
All these have now moved to Staffordshire Record Office.
As you say, Staffordshire Record Office and The William Salt Library are very close indeed - one backs on to the other.
